A born and bred Dunedin boy, Stu spent 10 years performing for both the Dunedin Operatic Society and the Dunedin Opera company before moving to Christchurch to take a place in the inaugural year of the Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art (ASDA). Stu then moved to Wellington to study under Barry Mora and then Rodney McCann. During that time he performed principal roles in the Victoria University’s productions of The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro.
Stu has recently moved back to the South Island and performed in Southern Opera’s chorus of Carmen in 2007 and in the role of the Old Gypsy in Il trovatore in 2008. Earlier this year he performed the role of Spinelloccio in Gianni Schicchi.
